A sealed unit is the glass in your window made of two or more panes separated by a spacer and sealed around the edges to create an airtight space between them. Also called double glazed units.
What 'blown' or 'failed' sealed units mean:
* A sealed unit can fail when the airtight seal breaks. This leads to:
- Condensation or mist between the panes
- Reduced insulation performance
- Visible cloudiness that can’t be wiped away.
The good news- you don't usually need to replace the entire window, the sealed unit can be removed and replaced with a new one, restoring the energy efficiency of your window.
If your window glass is cracked or blown, Crescent Glazing can replace it quickly and efficiently. We offer a wide range of glass options to suit your needs and budget.

Short for low emissivity glass is a type of energy-efficient glass designed to reduce the amount of heat that passes through it whilst still letting light in.
Low- E glass has microscopically thin coating- usually made of metal or metallic oxide- that reflects heat instead of letting it pass through.
In winter: reflects heat back inside your home → keeps it warmer.
In summer: reflects heat away from your home → keeps it cooler.
All year: allows natural sunlight through while blocking unwanted heat transfer.
-Lower energy bills
-Improved indoor comfort
-Less condensation on windows
-Blocks UV radiation from entering your home.
